Come
up with or find a fun and useful writing activity to lead the class in.
- Activity should take 15-30 minutes
- Each person in the group should complete the activity in advance to share as examples
- Something in journal: writing, gluing, drawing, etc.
- Leave a comment by the end of class today on this post with a brief explanation of what you plan to do.
- Create a clear and interesting visual aid to put on the SMARTBoard during your activity--this might be a Google doc or Google slides (share it with hfraser@sps.org before you teach).
- Plan who will say what and be ready to present confidently and enthusiastically and in an easy-to-understand way.
- Don't miss the day your group is scheduled to present or you won't earn the points.

We will be working on your Altered Book Final
Project alongside these activities—bring supplies this week if you can (scrapbook paper,
ribbon, Mod Podge, tabs, embellishments, stickers, etc.)
We will also start collecting for our Holiday Basket when I get more information on our family--you can be gathering household supplies like cleaners and paper goods and/or food in the meantime.

Katie and Taylor will be doing a "Fictional bucket list" in which the students of the class will each write a bucket list of ten things they'd want to do in a fictional setting. Examples of this could be: Give Dobby a sock, Travel in the TARDIS with the Doctor, Shoots arrows with Legolas, etc. Of the ten listed experiences, each student will write more extensively about one of the experiences, then share it with the class.
ReplyDeleteDaniel, Ben and I will give the class a murder mystery prompt, and a list of characters. They can write in their journals the outcome and the dialogue between the characters to fit their liking. We will take volunteers to read their dialogue.
ReplyDeleteLaura, Emma, Meghan, and Zachary will be doing a "Secret Santa". Students' names will be in a hat and each student will draw a name. For each name drawn, students will write a letter to who's name they have drawn entailing Christmas or Holiday traditions, favorite music, complements, something to make them feel cared about and cherished over the holiday season! Once they are done writing the letter will be turned in to us four and one of us "Elves" will deliver the letter the the student to whom it is written.
ReplyDeleteMe and Josh are going to be doing something like a role play feel writing prompt but not what you think when you hear role playing..for example not to spoil but lets say Your trapped somewhere what do you do sorta thing. It will probably be half a page or so in writing and there will be time where it is quite.
ReplyDeleteJordan Jessie and Glenda will be doing the story of a random inanimate object. Write out it's life story.
ReplyDeleteJacob, M'Kenna, Taylor, and I will be exploring the identity as writers. We will challenge our pupils to create a pseudonym (pen name) as to write under. We will discuss why people use certain pen names, and will ask them write a paragraph about what they would write under their new name, and why they choose that names. We will also ask them to create a poem using the letters of their pen names to describe their fictitious writers.
